Operation Christmas Child
Operation Christmas Child is a ministry not only to give children a speacial gift, but to give them the best gift, The Word of God. Each child receives this in their box in their own native language. Last year between the Carolina's, North and South, over 780,000 boxes were collected. This means not just 780,00 children received the Word of God, but we must multiply that by 3,5 or 10. Each child is going to share God's Word to family members, neighbors, and possibly friends introducing them to God's plan of salvation through Jesus Christ.
We are so excited to help this mission to let these young children and adults know that God loves them, that God is the answer, that we as Christians love them and want to give them the opportunity of hearing how God can save them.
If your heart is telling you to donate, via monetary, special items, or taking a box home to fill yourself, please return by November 7th. The age groups for both boys and girls are 2-4, 5-9, and 10-14. We have boxes in the fellowship hall. Drop off this year is the week of November 15th. If anyone needs a list of acceptable items, refer to our list below.
Also, we are having a fundraiser to help along with our goal. The church is hosting a Silent Bakery Auction on Oct 16th, 2021. The auction will be at the Maysville Community Building 703 8th Street in Maysivlle from 12 noon to 4pm. Each item will have a starting bid and you may place your bid amount on the sheets provided. At 4pm we will be calling all winners to pick up their delicious sweets.
